What is SiteLock and what does it do?
SiteLock is a service that performs daily scans of your website to identify vulnerabilities and protect it from threats like viruses, cross-site scripting, SQL injections, and even email blacklists. SiteLock™ also provides you with a trust seal that assures your customers and helps increase your sales and conversions.
Will SiteLock impact website performance?
SiteLock scans will not impact your website’s performance. Additionally, the SiteLock seal does not affect load times.
How does SiteLock notify you when it finds a problem?
Your website visitors will not be alerted to any issues. The SiteLock seal will simply continue to display the date of the most recent successful scan of your site. SiteLock will send you emails notifying you of any issues and what needs to be fixed. If you do not resolve the issue within a few days, SiteLock will remove the seal from your website and replace it with a transparent one-pixel image. At no time will SiteLock indicate to visitors that your site has failed a scan.
What types of issues does SiteLock scan for?
SiteLock performs a Deep 360 scan covering:

- Customer Data Protection (SQL & XSS): Conducts forward and backward scans to ensure that current and future visitor/customer data on your website remains secure.
- Application Security: Certifies your business’s validity and provides a certification badge for website visitors, informing them that your business or website is legitimate.
- Business Verification: Ensures that your website’s reputation remains intact and that communication with visitors and customers is not disrupted.
